Transmission Oil Question

Getting ready for my 1000 mile service. Dealer recommended synthetic in the engine and conventional oil in the transmission and primary. I do some cold weather riding. So would I get a better shift with synthetic than conventional because it isn't as stiff as conventional?

The Sportster's tranny and primary are the same reservoir, not separate. Use a good syn in the engine, go with something like Harley's Formual + for the primary/tranny.

I have an 08 1200, I switched to Spectro heavy duty primary chaincase lube that is specifically formulated for sporties at the 5K service from the formula+. It shifts better and I find neutral much easier in my opinion.

Having to use conventional motor oil in the primary/trans is from the old days, go with a lube that is formulated for the application whatever brand you choose spectro, redline, HD forula+, etc.

I could go on, but there are plenty of oil threads that cover the topic.
