Transmission Dipstick?

What is the right size or the right tool to get the transmission dipstick out?
My trox#40 seems slightly too big and my #10 allen head is too big. I don't want to strip the top out.

Scrap the stock trans dipstick & get the dipstick from the HD dealer that does not need any tools to remove , it is a good investment IMO .

Agree with installing the tranny dipstick that doesn't need a tool

I recall someone posting a comment that said the fluid level is checked with the dipstick resting in the hole, not threaded in.

This is definitely confirmed for a 2006 Dyna.

This has been the rule for quite a while. My 2001 Wide Glide manual also agrees. Also the bike should be standing straight up, not on the jiffy stane.
