do i have to use harley davdison transmission fluid in my 1998 dyno wideglide if not what else can i use

Welcome to the forum, lots of choices for oils. Check the self help section. No one specific oil is the only one. Just find something designed for the application who ever the manufacturer is.

There's no reason why you would have to use HD products.

I have used Spectro gear lube for smoother shifting and quiet running. Gears need a gear lube.
