trailer bearings

was out today for long ride , twice seen trailers on side of road with wheel missing ,
2nd one had 4 vehicles involed - truck & trailer plus 3 cars with damage that looked to be from a flying wheel , if you pull a trailer please check & grease your bearings - thanks

I make it a habit to do it everytime the tags come do. even with out many miles, just sitting the grease dries out. better to spend the few minutes and be sure. when I tow a trailer it has a serious load on it, i don't want to be "that guy"

Harbor Freight sells a bearing packing tool that I just purchased. It works very well and was about $19 if I remember correctly. I used it to repack the bearings on my trailer and it only took me 30 minutes, including wheel/hub removal/reinstallation. The best part is that my hands stayed grease free.
