I need a little help determining cable lengths for my 2001 Sportster. I bought the bike with aftermarket cables approx 40in length. I have 6in pullback risers, with the stock Hugger type bars. I will be installing 32in pullback drag bars. Maybe 42-43in cables with 90 degree elbows? Appreciate some helpful comments.

The most critical measurement is the "free" length, or the difference between the inner and outer cables. Most Harley cables have the correct lead barrels on the ends, but checking is good. The overall cable length you need can be done with string. You can compensate a too long cable by tucking a little here and there, and routing it the long way. Too short can't be compensated.
