temp sensor?

What does a temp sensor do? When should you replace one? Where is it located on my bike?

can make the bike run funny .. it shoudl be between the heads

Rear of the front head, it will give a symptom of running rich.

had a problem with mine on my 06fatboy. If it see's the engine getting to hot is cut the power back to prevent any damage. the also cause problem starting if they fail like it will start then stall the only to keep it running is to keep the throttle open

thats theintake air not engine temp...

ET sensor ,As glider said it is a single sensor located on your front cylinder head,the sensor provides input signals to the ECM as it reacts to the tempeture of the front cylinder head, the ECM uses this signals from the sensor to determine if the engine is at operating tempeture or warming up from cold start. this is just one part of the sequence of operation of many sensors that play a part of making the bike run .

look at the diagnostic codes first you can change sensors all day and not fix the problem
