With my new SG on the way, I am thinking about the Stage 1 upgrade. Had one on the old ride- loved it- but was planning to take the advice of another Forum member on here and ride the bike stock for quite awhile to really get to know it. Then, if I want to change out the airbox and add slip-ons, I'll do it later.
My question/concern is- riding the bike stock means riding it lean. And I am concerned b/c I get the feeling that a lean bike can damage the engine eventually.
Is it best to do the airbox/pipes/TFI upgrade right away- to avoid running it lean, or does it not matter? Obviously it can't be TOO bad for the engine, or HD wouldn't make them that lean. I am just wondering what I should do.
I want to take my time with this bike and not make a million changes in the first week, so that I can get to know it better first, and make the right changes slowly.
What do you guys think? THANKS!!
