tank raising question

In perusing this web page <http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/why-how-to-cool-down-the-twin-cam-engine-part-i-dk-cl-tc-dn-1.htm>, one of the first 5 things to do is raise fuel tank. Simple enough.

My question. Why raise rear of the fuel tank? Would that not defeat the purpose of putting air on the motor?

With my current handle bars, I can get a 2 inch lift on the front. Not of the advantages of that height.

Looking for tips, advice, etc.

Raising the rear of the gas tank allows air flow over top of motor and also removes hot air from the inside of your legs. Raised my gas tank and noticed less heat on my legs. Happy with the results.

did that 3 days ago, and went on a 120 mile ride. noticed a small change on my legs. as well
