stuck brake light

Hi all, I'm having a strange problem with the front brake light switch on my 2000 Dyna, the light is staying on unless I keep my fingers against the back of the lever. soon as I move the lever moves back less than a 16th & the brake light is back on. theres a squelching sound from the master cylinder if the lever is moved while the bike isn't parked. any ideas before I tear it apart?

Either the brake light switch in the front assembly broke off or it is out of place inside the switch housing and needs to be checked for installation position. This happens when care isn't taken replacing the brake lever if an upgrade has been done.

This is what you should do when working on the brake switch or replacing the lever.

Ah, cheers, I will take it appart then. I've never touched them & didn't want to be pulling them appart without needing too. there is a bit of play there so I know where to start :D
