Stock pipe heat deflectors

I have a 2010 Heritage Softail. I am getting ready to replace the stock mufflers with 1.75 Rush slip ons. Should I add the heat defelectors from the stock mufflers to the Rush slip ons, and if so why? :cheers

Looking on the HD website, if you were to change to the Screaming Eagle Slip-ons, the Heat Deflectors are not shown. I would install the Rush mufflers without the Heat Deflectors.

You could always install them later if heat is an issue.

I have Rush slip ons, no heat shields.
