I have a 1986 883 that i converted to a rigid frame
It takes around 10 to 15 start attempts b-4 it catches
I can not accelarte until it warms up even with the choke out
after its up and runing it runs great, no misses or backfires and has lots of power

Any suggestions?

Check your jetting, it sounds lean. Also try to "learn" the way i likes to be started. Different bikes take different methods to get running. The problem with warm up also sounds like jetting too.

Hey Chopster
Sorry I cant help you with your starting problem, that bike is a bit too new for me. But I am curious about your convert to a rigid frame. I’ve got a 78 Ironhead Sportster and have been thinking of doing the same thing to it. Just wondering if you bought a complete frame and what brand. I keep looking at Fly Rite Choppers frames. Do you have any suggestions or anything you would do different ?
Thanks
Roonster
