Speedometer light and trip meter

the speedometer gauge won't light up and my mileage and trip indicator will not display on my 2002 electraglide

You may want to pull out the Vehicle Speed Sensor(VSS) from top of the tranny and look at it for fuzz. If there clean it off. Have you check it for codes. You can find the procedure here http://www.hdtimeline.com/archive/t-729.html
