Shovelhead Leaking Oil From Bolt

2697DBB4-5A79-467F-A8D5-F543FE79E3AA.jpeg I have a 1966 Shovelhead and I noticed a puddle of oil underneath. When I checked it is coming from a bolt at the front lower left side of the engine case. When I attempted to tighten the bolt, it would just spin and will not tighten as if no threads are able to catch it. It also appears that it does not hold the case together so not sure why it is there and why just spins. Now there is a steady drip of oil from that hole and will not stop dripping. What is going on?

This could be a drain-plug for your primary, not sure ,don't know much about shovels.
If the thread is bad , you could consider using a helicoil , to repair it.

Thanks for the reply. On another forum a long time Harley guy said that is a case oil drain plug held over from the old days. The threads are stripped and unfortunately the engine has to be raised to repair because the frame is in the way. Bummer. Now I need to find a good shop close by.
