Yes. That is why when removed you need to cap where air line goes on. Also when airing up you need to use proper shock air pump and not air hose.
yes and now to refill them correctly you need to look at BUD White's post on how to do it.
that is why when you want to lower they air in them you pump them up 3-5 pounds first so you do not lose oil.
Some have been know to put a slightly heavier oil in them for larger riders
