At Lake Wales HD on Saturday. Someone has several vintage bikes there on display including a HD bicycle. The most interesting piece was a military bike with a BMW set up, opposing twin with shaft drive. It was a vintage HD, did not find the year.

Anyone know about these? Were they a copy of the BMW back in the day?

yes they were basically a copy of the BMW for the Army for use in Africa and any desert area ..

Did not take photos.

It is a very good restoration, there are 3 differen military bikes there. 2 are complete with a leather holster containing a Thompson.
