Can anyone give me an approximate RPM range at a cruising speed ( 60mph). I'm don't think my tach is reading correctly.

Year and model? Five or six speed? Stock wheels/tires? Stock primary? Stock secondary?
Assuming all is stock and in top gear;
5 speed would be 2475 rpm @ 60mph
06 six speed would be 2325
07 six speed would be 2200
IIRC, there was a final drive ratio change in MY 2010that would increase the top gear rpms but I am not sure, so if the OPs bike is '10 or later, these numbers may not apply.
Also, if the OP is cruising at 60mph in 6th, I hope he is downshifting to accelerate and overtake.
