Gday all Hope someone can help me I have a 95 sportster and my ignition switch has died. I I have tried to take the old one out but cant work out how to get it out of the cover. And with the new one It has the 3 wires Ill have to cut the wires on the old one and splice them together How do I know which wire goes where Thanks in advance to any help

The ignition switch is held in place by a round nut with some slots in it a special tool is required to undo the nut however i just use a sharp nose pliers and get the points in 2 of the slots and turn the nut
the new switch will only fit one way as there is a flat part on the outer barrel to prevent it from spinning
The wires on the new switch should be the same colour as the old or it should come with a wiring diagram use the wiring diagram for the bike to match up with new switch wires
