red light that looks like a key

i was riding my 2003 heritage springer tonight i looked at my speedo
and noticed that the red light taht looks like a key was on i stoped turn off the ign switch restarted engine the light was off then it came back on
whats up i have neve had any throubles wit this bike it does have a
power commander on it and i have noticed also that the bike is
surging at 35 mph but when you drop the hammer on it run good

on my 07 flht that is the security system activation light, on mine it blinks every 10 or 15 seconds when bike is parked and there is no key fob nearby.

I had a 2004 Heritage that the security light came on and stayed on all the time. The problem turned out to be the wiring under the rear fender came loose and dropped down on the tire. It rubbed all the insulation off and was causing the problem.
