Rear fender protection

First post of many to come, just was given a 97 Fatboy as a gift from my wife. First question is what has evryone done to protect the fender from the seat when it is on for 2 up? I was thinking felt, but was wondering if there is something better.

I've used a piece of carpet under the seat and also used the 3M protective coating on another bike to protect the paint.

Riders Warehouse has a couple of options.
One is a magnetic tank bag shield Kind of like a refridgerator magnet on steroids. the other is a paint sheld. A large piece of clear vinyl you put on with water and a squeegee. (http://www.aerostich.com Part numbers 9058 for the paint shield and 4916 for the magnetic one)

Appreciate the help! I was thinking about the clear tape, will give that a try.
