Rear Axle Diameter??

I'm looking to upgrade the rear brakes on my '04 EG to the later model Brembo caliper. I have already made the swap on the front.

My question is, does anyone know the outer diameter of the rear axle of an '04 versus an '08 touring bike? I'm trying to determine if the bracket for the bolt on Brembo caliper will work with my '04 rear axle. Any suggestions or ideas would be most appreciated.

'04 touring bikes have 1" axle. '08 & up have 25 mm. The difference is 25 mm are .0158" smaller in dia.
