Ramp weight limit

I have a 6x10 enclosed trailer with a standard ramp door. I hear that most of these standard doors will hold 1000 lbs. Iam trying to figure out if the ramp will hold the weight of the Trike. The trike is about 1200 pounds ... but by my measurements the bike won't be entirely on the ramp or in the center of the ramp all at once. The front wheel will be in the trailer by the time the rear wheels are in the center of the ramp. I had a 800 lb Heritage on it with no problem ... Has anyone ever driven a Trike on one of these standard ramps?

Don't forget to add rider's weight to the 1200 pounds. Have you thought about building a platform base under the door when it's dropped to help distribute the weight?

Try to contact the builder or take it another trailer distributor to get their feel of weight limit

Even the low cost US Cargo 700 Lbs. economy ramp door will handle a trike and rider. The rating is for a concentrated point on the ramp
