I fixed it!!
Thanks for all the help , I looked at the ironcross. com website and downloaded the radio instructions which I did not receive from the previous owner.
I had asked if there was a way to dim the light on the radio before but got no response so after reading the instructions I saw where you could dim the graphics through the menu.
Problem is you have to be able to see the graphics in order to follow the menu!
So I disconnected the fuses overnight to make sure it lost its memory to hopefully reboot and to test my theory.
Well I was right for once (somebody please tell my wife) and when I put the fuses back in this morning I now have a display!!!
Dealer was wanting to charge $1000. for a new radio. Told me that is was a common problem with that model. He also suggested the $250 recondition one from ironcross.com so I don't think he was trying to rip me off.
So far I am surprisingly happy with my local dealer which is Eastern Shore Harley Davidson in Daphne Al. Thier service has been awsome to date and they are always friendly even when they know I don't have any money to spend. Does seem a bit odd though because their sister store (same owner) in Mobile Al had never given me and many others the time of day when you walk in the showroom.
Thanks Again
Tom.
Hey moderators, you might think about placing the "unplug your fuses overnight and let the radio reboot " as a sticky in case others have the same duh moment that I had.
