Every once in awhile you read about someone loosing a saddle bag. Here are some pics of what I did to help me feel better in keeping them securely attached.
Went to Lowe's and bought these, Hillman 5/16 - 18 x 1 3/4 knob / male stud, thes are located in the fastener section , in the pull out drawers, from NAPA #665-1461 extruded nuts / panel nuts.
I cut 1/2 inch off the stud, painted the bottom and applied some WD-40 to the threads, I only used 1 per side

Very good idea, you should add this to the self help section.:)

    The other brother
(Disclaimer) I may not always be right but at least I tried. 05 Ultra Classic 95 ci.

Why just one on each side? I pulled my bags off last night. The only thing that kept me from using the saw-z-all is the cost of the bag and the purple paint job w/flames. I am adding a stop at the NAPA store tommorow

You now what they say, 1 makes you feel better than 2 should make you feel great.
When I bought the knobs they only had the 4 of the same and I told my friend that I was getting them and would get some for him, so that's how I came up with 1 per side, but yes 2 per side would be better.
