Well, today (and tomorrow) has been the Open Day for all HD dealers in Italy.
At my dealer in Rome the models available for testing were:
I took the opportunity to have a ride on the Softail and following are my impressions compared to my Street Bob.
The first thing is that it handles very well, like a Dyna.
Brakes seem better, but must be the forward position of the pedal allowing a higher pressure with the foot.
The engine runs smooth, less vibration than the Dyna, but you feel that there's a little bit less thrust.
My first time with the gear/footrest stuff: need to get used because couple of times I geared up instead of gearing down!! :small3d007:
On the suspensions side, I passed over a hole on the the road and the effect is the same: a painful shock on my back lower parts!
The Fat Boy is not my favorite Softail, but I think that the behavior must be the same also for my favorite, the Heritage Softail Classic, and the quality is very good.
I liked the reduction of vibrations of the engine mostly.
Just FYI
