Do I need to change oil in my Sportster before storing for Winter? Or can I do it when I get it out of storage. I just had it changed at 1500 mi. it now has 2500 mi on it
Hobbit has it covered already, but I would change it before storage for reasons that were said already. Thanks Robb
How long of a time limit would you guys consider (being stored)? I'm planning on riding as much as I possible can barring ice, snow and sleet. As long as it is above 32, I'm ridin....:52:
I would consider more than a month or two extended storage for me. I do the same thing, keep it "wet" over the winter and ride when I can too but I do a full service of all oils going into the winter season to remove any acid or moisture. I also do start it even when I can't ride over the winter once the snow flies. The key here is to put a good size floor fan on it and get it to operating temps for a while so water vapor isn't a problem. Many schools of thought on this one.
