O2 sensor question

So I guy wants to buy my pipes that came off my 09 SG for his 2012 SG I know they will fit but he will need to install adaptors to use his smaller 02 sensors but he was told that by doing this it will cause the 02's to not read well because they will not protrude into the pipes enough to get a good reading anyone here of this?

YES,

He'd be better off RE-Bunging to accept the smaller size.

MY Thinking here ; ,,, he must use the 2012 Heated smaller version IN his 2012 bike AND his bike will not be Exchangeable to the 09 two wire types.

YES, The 02's need to be IN the pipe far enough to work properly.
