MP3 port on Ultra Classic

The mp3 input for the radio no longer works in stereo. When I plug in the iPod it plays mono. If I jiggle the cable it will play all in stereo but only if I hold it a certain way. Does the entire radio have to be replaced? This is what Harley has recommended... not thrilled with the $500 bucks for a $1.00 input port.

First, I would be sure you don't have a short or broken section in your actual cable. Plug into a friend's bike or another input port and make sure you get stereo playback.

There are some repair shops that still repair auto sound systems before you drop a bunch of $$$ check around a bit.
