Pre-ride inspection conducted, fluids changed, fully fueled and the bike is loaded. I had planned on pulling out Friday morning, June 1. The weather is not going to cooperate so I will pull out Saturday morning, June 2. This will be another 30 day adventure across the United States. Again, I didn’t do much planning for this adventure as I don’t want to be tied down to a schedule. I’ll try and document the trip like I did in 2010 and throw in a couple of pictures too. The trip will also be documented on facebook in a page titled “Motorcycle Adventure, 2012”. Feel free to follow along and “like” the page. Maybe I’ll see you on the road. Safe riding everyone.

Sounds great! I hope to be able to do something like that some day.

I will be sure and 'like' that FB page...

Hope the trip is everything you wish for and more, ride safe!

Gosh! I got so excited just reading this post! Like Tank said, we'll be following along like last trip. I am in awe of you doing this, and doing it pretty much solo. How nice! Hope you have a safe trip.

hope you have a safe enjoyable ride. i am still on mine and have about 4 days left. but then comes October and i hope to do it again only for a longer time. i dont want mine to stop but i guess it needs to so i can get home and see the latina.

enjoy and be safe

Day 1, June 2

The weather was cool this morning at 0600 when I was ready to pull out. By the time I had gone 50 miles, it was downright cold. I pulled over and put on a sweat shirt and chaps. Much better! There are not many pictures today because it was mainly interstate riding trying to get to Clarksville, TN to see an old riding buddy, “Retired Jake”. After 12.5 hours and 643.6 miles I made it. I got a motel room and we went for some chow and golden throat dust remover. Riding that far on the first day wasn’t too smart, but I’m 20% across the country. Tomorrow the plan is to get up when I feel like it and make westward tracks off the interstates. No telling which way I will go, so I’ll just keep the sun to my back for a couple of hours. I appreciate all the responses from everyone thus far. I’ll post some good pictures when I get to the scenery.
