Lowering 2000 FXDL

Thinking of lowering my 2000 FXDL by using shorter shocks. Stock is 12.5" would like to put 11.5" on the bike. Has anybody tried this with a low rider and what was the result, too low, rough ride, or just right. Thanks

I have an "06 Low Rider with Progressive 440-11.5's on it. The standard springs were a little soft; particularly when riding two up. Progressive upgraded to heavy duty springs at a very reasonable cost.
