Loud Ticking Sound From Engine

07 Road King with 58,000 miles, loud ticking sound from engine (sounds like top end) especially at highway speeds. All three holes changed every 5,000 miles with synthetics. Top and bottom end has never been opened.
 
I had a lifter failure on my 2012 CVO StreetGlide, sounded like 2 hammers slapping the heads together.
Sound like that?
 
Loud ticking?o_O Harley valve trains make noise, some louder than others and "loud" is very subjective. Is this something new; a recent development? If so, the OP needs to take a look in the cam chest as chain tensioners could be in play. Are the lifters and pushrods stock? Does the noise present on cold start up pr just at highway speeds? Valve train noise is louder with Synthetics and sometimes straight weight oils will dampen the noise.
