Loud noise from rear wheel area...

When I let off the throttle I can hear a roaring sound that seems to be coming from the rear wheel or somewhere in the area. I have an 06 SG with 1400 mile on it. Is this characteristic or not?

Have you checked the belt tension?

Hard to see it from here but usually if they are loose, they will make noise.

Play in the belt should be 5/16"-3/8" without anyone on the bike... 1/4"-5/16" with the rider on it.

Yeah, one other thing, if it was too loose and started slipping teeth, likely after inspection you will have missing teeth on the belt and evidence of shredding if it continued for any length of time.
