Lights flashing

I was riding last Friday night and my lights seem to be flashing with the timing of the motor. I shut the bike off for about an hour and then started it up again and the flashing was gone. Any Ideas on what may of cause that. I ride a 1996 Heritage Softtail Classic

It sounds like you are saying that the lights "flickered" with the motor which could indicate a charging system problem in the making. You could test the stator output and the regulator and also check the voltage at the battery terminals and when raising the RPM's from an idle to see if it fluctuates at all.

Check for something as simple as a bad/broken connection or wires at the headlight. Now if it was ALL lights, I agree with Glider, go through your charging system to see if it checks out:

When I think of flickering lights I think of charging problems , or a bad connection at the battery. May also want to check your grounds
