left blinker engine light

My friends 2003 Dyna Super Glide, when she turns on the left blinker it does not work and the engine light comes on. Right blinker works fine. It's got me scratching my head. any ideas? Thanks

When the turn signal is on and the engine light is on is it on all the time and does it go out when the turn signal is turned off or does it stay on?

Check/replace the bulb and socket and see if that is the cause.Quite often you can get a bit of corrosion in the socket and it holds back the tension on the contact at the bottom of the socket so it doesn't maker a connection.

You may have an engine light to signify a code has been set.

Thanks. I will try that. She took off and rode to the coast as is. Her kids were camping there and of course mom wanted to spend a day or two with them. So, when she gets back, we'll give it a try. Since I ride a '93, I'm not used to "codes". But, I'm learning.
