Laughlin River Run

Laughlin, AZ will host their River Run next week. We've got a small group leaving from the Shell Station on Fortuna, forming up behind the BK and between KFC, in the foothills of Yuma Thursday morning at 7:30. The plan is to walk the vendors, visit the casino, lunch(several of us carry our own), maybe a demo ride, and ride back to Yuma after a couple of hours touring. You're welcome to join if you'd like. We run the speed limit(maybe over 3-4), helmets, keep it casual, use the 2 second rule, and run staggered.

I've been there twice, and had a great time both times! The only challenge is that it is quite a haul from Indiana, so I won't be going this year. Give the donkeys a carrot for me in Oatman,:bigsmiley17: have a great time, and and Ride Safely!!

Thanks guys! Later, then!

I'll be there late Thurs eve, staying in Kingman and plan to do the vendors on Friday. Maybe run up to see the Cattle Farmer Bundy...:newsmile07:
I was close to his ranch about a month ago, on a Kingman and Oatman ride after geezer left for home to Manitoba. I went across that High Bridge above old Hover Dam.
I guess Bundie's ranch is close to there... Might get put on the "endangered species list" going there... Feds are taking Picts... Hopefully they are like Jack and no photo available..Eh.

Hey BUBBIE,
Sorry we're going to miss you! We did the Oatman ride about a month ago so we were in and out before the Feds even got there! Maybe next time, okay?

Not knowing you were there, I went back to Kingman/Oatman about the same time you must have been there.Toward the end of last month? I truly love the rides around there.

I'm confused (again). I thought.....

#1: Laughlin was in Nevada, not Arizona.

#2: Bundy's ranch was about 80 miles north of Las Vegas. You guys are a lot closer to it than I am, so you know more about it than I do.

Bubbie, how's that new bridge over the river by Hoover Dam??? I watched them build some of it, but haven't seen the finished product.

The new bridge IS not a beauty but does the Job. IT is High above the old Hover Dam and you can just see that from Over the High Cement Sided Bridge IF you are tip-e toe on the floor-boards. Lots of warnings of staying on the Inboard side IF tall sided and need protection from the HIGH Gusts.

Not too impressed with the design but it works. Much rather the Old way across, down and up the twisty road , Plus the Bonus across the dam it's self, that was the neat part of the ride there.

Kingman is just UP above all in Az. over-looking toward (unseen) the low area of Bullhead City Az.on the Colorado River.
Not far at all...
Kingman, the easiest place and $$ wise to stay. Just drop over the hill or use Old Route 66 to go thru Oatman Az., then down-up to Bullhead City, full views of the Casinos across the river. Head across the river bridge into Nevada, you are right at the Casinos.

It is about the ride, besides for me, it is tooooo busy to get and stay at Laughlin.
Rooms and rates are at a Premium. Filled by early reservations. Not my style leaving the bike in the cramped parking-lots way out from View... IN Kingman, my bike is right outside my room and under total view with my Pistol on the nightstand.
