Many of the stage 1 kits are using K&N filters and they are warrantied for a million miles according to the manufacturer. Proper care of them must be taken in order to not damage the filter media and defeat their filtering capabilities. Never use compressed air to dry the filter, let it dry naturally.
Here's a link to the K&N website that shows the proper way to clean the filter and also re-oil it once it is dry. Do not over oil the filter or it will drip on the engine when it heats up.
