ignition module

on my stage one upgrade do I need to get the ignition module, and coil? are these really considered part of the upgrade? I was under the impression that pipes air cleaner and carb. adjustment were all that was required to be a stage one.

The module isn't necessary for the stage 1 but they do give a bit more performance. Whether it is enough to justify the cost is a matter of opinion and what you are looking for. The coil isn't needed for a stock motor, no real gain here.

Only advantage of a performance ignition module is a higher rev limit, (usually 6,200 rpm) most bikes unless super modifiyed still perform best on stock curves, and have never seen a gain from perforance coils like Glider & Hobbit have said.
