Idles fine but fails to accelerate!

I have a 1989 sportster. Had if for a while now but recently started playing up. It seems to idle fine but when i go to accelerate it doesnt do anything and begins to stall. Just wondered if anyone knew what this could be? It has only happened a couple of times but then it will go, runs fine and doesnt miss a beat. Any help would be great

Sounds like a fuel problem. Either jetting , accelerator pump problem or water in the fuel. Drain the carb float bowl and see if it persists.
