I need help with my 2003 Heritage Softail Clutch handle

There is no tension in my clutch handle. Prior to this the handle would inadvertently fall against the handle bar. I would push it back and it would begin working again. Now when I push it back it just falls again. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Lube the cable but that was not the answer! It was the nut that came off the push rod!
