Where on te trans can I look to see what kind of trans it is. I also am riding and speedo is reading 49 MPH and when I check it on Waze it is saying 65 MPH do I need a 6 speed sensor

If it is a six-speed, it will say on the right side of the tranny. They were introduced on the Dyna in '06 and the rest in '07. So if you have a six-speed, it would have to be an upgrade.

Cheers,

TQ

Thank you, when I bought the bike the speedo was not working so I got a new speed sensor but I don’t know if it had to be a 6 speed sensor trying to figure it out

If the trans is a six speed, the five speed sensor will not work properly. PN for he five speed sensor is 74430-00D and PN for the six speed sensor is 74402-05. If the trans is a HD trans, the speed sensor is in a completely different location than on the early models. If an aftermarket six speed, like Baker, Ultima, Rivera, etc, the trans and/or gear set will come with a new speed sensor to replace the OEM sensor.
