Hello All, I just found this forum. Bought my first H-D in June, a 2009 Sportster 1200 Low. Been wanting a Sporty since I was a senior in high school in 1974 when I bought my first bike, a 1973 Honda CL350. Really thought I was something 'til a guy I knew comes up to me and says I hear you bought a bike. I say yeah and he says me too. I say whatcha buy and he says a brand new '74 Sporty. After I pick my jaw up off the ground and see his bike in the parking lot I've been wanting one ever since. Rode street and dirt [Honda's and Suzuki's] for about 10 yrs. then gave it up. Anyway, at age 55 I decided it's now or never. Having spent 22 yrs. as a mechanic I can really appreciate the modern, computer-controlled, fuel-injected H-D's.
