Just wondering if anyone can tell me about places they've stayed overnight in central NE and or central/western Kansas, specifically towns like Thedford, NE and that area, and Oakley or Wakeeney, Kansas. That area of the midwest is so wide open with small towns that I wouldn't think there are a lot of options.

Stayed in the Gateway Motel in Broken Bow, I think 9 years ago. Clean, cheap, basic, friendly staff. Town also has gas and a restaurant. Not much after that to the west.
