Helmet Paint?

A friend of mine had to give up riding due to health issues... He gave me a new full face helmet... On cold days I could sure use it! The issue is; it is this ugly glossy bright red color. I want to paint it black... Any advice? Sanding off the gloss, primer, type of paint???

It may be Cheaper for you to sell it and buy the Color you want.

Kill the shine and use a can of Krylon from Ace hardware. It works well. A dusting of primer will help too.
