Headlamp plastic cover

I notice the new Glide's have no plastic covr over the heallamp. Has any one removed (on older models) their cover? Was it an 'improvement" was it easy to clean the bug on the inside? Done just for looks? Thoughts ?

Thomas, I remeoved the plastic cover on my 99 Road Glide. I purshased and installed the new cover from the Screeming Eagle, looks great. I've had it like this for about 18 months, several long trips and no problems. If anything, the lights are brighter without the cover. I'm very happy with the mod and would do it again. Bill
