I've read some posts about hard starts after the engine has reached it's operating temp because I was having the same issue with my ride, 2008 Street Glide with about 30,000 miles. The bike started just fine cold and when I started the hot engine, the starter engaged, then a big clunk, re-engaged, and then started. This is with a new battery and plugs. The local HD diagnosed a bad starter, replaced it, and it starts cold and hot just like it did 30,000 miles ago. The glide has slip ons and is flashed, no other mods.
