Fuel inlet and quick disconnect crossvoer

I just changed the cheapy plastic over brass fuel inlet to the solid brass inlet on my carb. Just wondering if many have broken and what were the circumstances. Were you fiddling with the carb or the fuel hose or were riding or were you just looking at it and noticed that it was cracked or weeping.

On another issue I put a quick disconnect on the cross over line on the front of the fuel tank. It will make removal of the tank much cleaner and quicker. It has shut off valves in both half's of the fitting so when you use the Q/D there is just a drop of gas that escapes.

It doesn't take much to break those inlet fittings. After many years of use with the heat they are subjected to , they break rather easily if you try to force the line off or return it back on to the fitting.

The brass is the best way to go.

buddy just had to replace his started leaking while riding

mine was not leaking. but found it cracked i was changing main jet..

Mine broke ('92 Dyna) when I was removing the fuel line to change to Mikuni carb. Sure seemed like it was easy to break.
