When removing the bumpers or if you are removing the fender tip trim or light on the rear fender, it's important to replace the structural support under the fender using a fender brace from a Road King part # 91140-04.
If you don't use that piece, the muffler supports will break off where they turn up into the fender struts from vibration and bouncing around without it. This fender brace ties the left and the right fender struts together at the bottom and firms up the supports for the mufflers.
