hi been offered a 98 fat boy,load of s&s parts lowered,etc for £4000 its legal, not run for ages and cosmetically challenged! what should i look out for any thoughts?

If you can find any softail for under £7 grand in this country then you are lucky
if it runs stops and goes at that price id buy it
look for oil leaks at the base of the cylinders and at the lower rocker boxes and any oil dripping from the bottom
check the condition of the drive belt and pulleys as they are not cheep to replace
cosmetics can be sorted out

Whats it cost to get one shipped? I was sorta in the same boat, about 4 grand more in Canada but got my fxst shipped in from Kentucky and saved big time. Good Luck

I have one, you will love the bike. Most EVO problems fixed by 98. Look for the obvious stuff, belts, oil leaks etc... EVO is a great motor.
