Exhaust heat wrap

Like to get some feedback on exhaust heat wrap...

I've seen other post saying the pipes were ran hotter on the outside I could see maybe on the inside, but assumed they would be cooler to the touch on the outside is this so ?

Also, any performance differences ?

Any problems with it ?
 
Heat wrap is ascetic IMO, in drag racing it holds in heat to create more of a low pressure zone for exhaust scavenging, unless you are racing it will not give you much of a gain, plus it can hold in moisture causing rust
 
Totally agree with previous posts, it's a cool look (I like on some bikes) but not at the expense of ruining pipes since it's also a corrosion promoter.
 
I think the rusting part may be a issue depending on many things, climate etc... have read elsewhere and haven't heard much about the rust issue ?
