Engine "kit"

No "real world" experience with either but both have good reputations with their customers and peers. After reading both, I believe I would opt for the DME kit as it is a complete kit with two cam sets recommended. The Vance kit would require a cam selection first and then build around the cam set.

I would call each one after getting familiar with each build plan, ask a lot of questions and make your decision based on those conversations.
 
I believe either one would be a good decision. The quality will be there. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
 
Riding style, overall weight, and model of the bike all play EXTREMELY imporatant aspects when selecting a combination.
Best to sit down with a skilled engine builder and go over the options prior to pulling the trigger.:s
