just want to say thanks all for the help, my riding is over till next year as my piglet wont run right, so will save up and buy new electric stuff next year ill be in forum though its great fun and great people
 
Did you place a 5 ohm coil with the points? Were the points and condenser new? A bad condenser will make it run rough. Easy to tell if it is bad, start it in the dark and look for excessive spark at the points when running. The condenser is suppose to squelch the spark when points open. As Jack said, we are here to help.

Re check your points gap, are you using the narrow lobe or wide lobe for front cylinder timing?
